CARTEC Safety Academy becomes a webinar

It has now been a few years since CARCANO decided to inaugurate CARTEC Safety Academy, a series of courses structured on different levels of depth and complexity whose aim was to train our customers’ operators in the correct way to set up and use lifting systems made with CARTEC accessories.

We received requests from many different countries; since it was not always possible to speak to the operators in their native language, it was often necessary to hire interpreters, with the resulting difficulties in terms of organisation, time and cost. Hence the decision to go a step further and provide the Academy lessons also in a webinar version: filming took place last July and we will soon be ready to launch. Thanks to this project, we will be able to offer subtitles of the lessons in different languages, thus significantly expanding the potential audience of the course.

While the intermediate and advanced versions of the course are aimed at those who deal more specifically with lifting and handling of loads, the course defined as basic is useful for all those who work in environments where loads are handled and who may have to deal with this type of operation more or less directly. That is why it is undoubtedly the most popular course worldwide, as it addresses a very wide audience and is an essential component in all those companies - whose numbers are fortunately rising - around the world that put personnel safety first. 

Thanks to this investment, CARCANO is aiming to make its course content accessible to more and more people, including all those who do not have the necessary knowledge to follow e.g. technical lessons in English and have therefore had difficulty accessing such information until now. 
The maximum dissemination of knowledge and good safety practices with regard to lifting systems is one of the objectives that CARCANO has always set itself and in which it has invested a great deal, especially in recent years, in the knowledge that providing the best possible accessories is not enough if the users are not adequately trained: the introduction of this webinar is an important step in this direction.

As mentioned above, the aim of the CARTEC Safety Academy basic course webinar is to give everyone the opportunity to access content subtitled in different languages and accessible when they are most comfortable, regardless of availability and time zones, providing essential training in the principles of safe lifting. For this reason, the topics covered will be the same as those already included in the courses that are held in person at the CARCANO headquarters, at the premises of customer companies, or online via videoconference. 

The introduction of CARCANO and of the lecturer - CARCANO's CARTEC Manager Francesco Conte - will be followed by a detailed discussion on guidelines and laws governing lifting, then lifting principles and markings, rope slings, chain slings, fibre slings, lifting accessories (limited to hooks, shackles, DIN eyebolts and, in part, swivelling eyebolts). The webinar concludes with information on capacity calculation and lifting base principles and applications.
